Merry Christmas

Hello and welcome to my last post for 2014. The last few weeks have been hectic and I have not had much time in my craft room, last week I made bath bombs for some of my Christmas gifts and there are a couple left so as soon as I've finish here I'm off for a lovely soak. Today I would like to show you my first attempt at iced sugar cookies, I have never played with royal icing before thinking way to hard, but my mum in law gave me her mother's icing gun so I needed to play and I'm loving my end result.

I love baking! And little man loves eating baking so theses have made his day. So from my family to yours, have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Stay safe and I'll see you next year.

This week Jo has an awesome competition for you all to enter, all you have to do is follow the hop and each design team member has something for you to remember then go to Imagine If's face book page and write " I want it all"  and if you are chosen you have to quote all the things on each design team members page and you will win it all!
So from this page remember, "One Santa Sleigh"
So this week I have made a Christmas gift for my son, he loves Disney's Car's so I made him a garage to park what ever car is his favorite for the day in, but because he love's Disney's Plane's as well I put a landing pad on top.

This garage is made from Imagine If's MDF 3D box, I have cut a door from one window and covered one window up.

Christmas Stocking!

Hello, and welcome to this weeks Imagine If blog hop, This week we all got a beautiful hessian stocking to decorate, But Jo decided we needed to play a game among the Design team members, we all had to describe what we thought each others stocking would be like, sounds easy right!! Here is some of what the team wrote for me:
" something earthy" "traditional clean lines"  "something for her little man" " Bold block colours" and all I could see was vintage, but I wanted it to have a kiwi feel, so I have a cute little Kiwi chipboard peeking out from under my flowers and "Merry Christmas" is in Maori.

So for my background I have used the diamond stencil, then I have layered with crochet doily and an old book page, The picture of Santa is from Paper Arts 'Yuletide 5' Available from Imagine If, The red flowers I got from Imagine If and the white flowers, leaves and berries are just from my stash. Using my Lindy's stamp gang Sprays available from Imagine If, I coloured my chipboard frame and kiwi a beautiful copper. My Meri Kirihimete is just stamped in black into a piece of book paper then inked the edges to make it look old.

You can start the hop at Imagine If, or if you have been following along you have just come from Tash, and the next stop along the way is Carol. I hope you have enjoyed your stop here and have gathered a lot of Inspiration along the way.

Oh so different!

Hello, Today for Imagine If's bog hop I've done something a little different, I got my sewing machine out!!!! I don't sew a lot, but do enjoy it when I do, and Jo from Imagine If sent me some beautiful Christmas Felt. Since the build up to Christmas is hard on little people I thought I would make Little Man something he can play with and count down the sleeps to the exciting day!
I love the magic of felt and how it sticks together, so the trees, presents and Ginger bread man are all sewn on, and using the amazing felt baubles, stars and candy canes he can decorate his Christmas tree every day!

The above photo is my wall hanging without the decorations, and then you can see what it looks like all decorated up!

This is a photo of Jo's kit for the Gingerbread man and candy cane, you just glue the felt together and you have the cutest tree decorations ever. the kids would love making these, maybe use a little glitter glue on the outside, and you have a cool present for granddad!

The Hop starts at Imagine If, but if you have been following along you have just come from Beth's and next on the hop is Lilian. Hope you have enjoyed this weeks inspiration from the Design team.

Christmas Trees!

Hi, on today's blog hop for Imagine If,  Beth, Lilian and I have done Christmas trees and the rest of the lovely design team have done Christmas tags. we start the hop at Imagine If and after me is Beth with her lovely tree.
The first thing I did to make my tree was put random pieces of Imagine If chipboard all over, I have use some Christmas chipboard and some non Christmas chipboard, then I have painted it all black, once dry I painted ferro old gold paint over it, (this paint has awesome texture in it).I also used some to stencil some extra texture on in random place's, then when that was dry i painted watered black paint over it again, and before that could dry i wiped most of it off, then over the raised bits I used some Blue Viva ink gold, and a bit of green.

Here is a close up showing the texture.

So remember the hop starts at Imagine If,  and after me is Beth with her Christmas tree, have fun hopping along and enjoying all the lovely creativity from the Design team,

Christmas cards

Hello and welcome to another blog hop for Imagine If.... Today Beth, Lilian and I are doing Christmas cards while everyone else get's to show off their beautiful Christmas sleighs. If you want to start the hop at the start pop over to Imagine If and follow from there, or if you are already following you have just come from Beth's and the next stop is Lilian.
So for my card's I wanted a vintage feel but still wanted them flat so I could post them, so I have used lots of beautiful Imagine If chipboard but have not lifted it to much.
On my first card I have used chipboard candles that I have painted white with a little shading, and chipboard holly leaves painted green, my berries are felt circles sprayed with Dylusions Postbox red and my circles of light I have used my Imagine If circle stencil and using gesso painted a different circle size where my candle wick would sit, then using my gelato's I have coloured.

For my second card I have used an embossing folder down one side just to add texture, sprayed my Reindeer a dark copper colour and painted another candle, then put it all together with some of the beautiful Poinsettia's available from Imagine If.

And my third card i have painted up some of the fun Christmas chipboard available and made my scene. I love the elf looking stocking's, they are so fun!

I hope you have enjoyed the hop today and have found some inspiration along the way, Please leave a comment we love hearing from you.

Christmas Sleigh

Hello and welcome to another Hop for Imagine If, today Beth, Lilian and I have Christmas sleigh's and they are awesome, and the other design team members have done Christmas layouts. I really love making something for Christmas every year, and these are so cute to make for a coffee table center piece or a gift, Today I have remembered to take photos of my making process. so sit back and enjoy.
First thing I did was cover all of the sleigh pieces in white gesso, and using Imagine If's  Rain go away stencil i put lighting down the sides and use some of the rain for lovely texture stripes.
Then i have used Dylusions, Cherry pie for my base coat of red but i wanted it a bit darker so then i have randomly sprayed  Lindy's Jolly Roger Red and Incandescent copper.

I have used a little acrylic paint on my lighting and rain stripes and put some eyelets on the front.
Then I have covered my chipboard pieces in either black or white gesso and all metal in clear gesso.
I have used a mixture of colours in spraying to give an aged look.
My wings I have embossed in Utees and the snow flakes I have used a glitter embossing powder, the bottle caps have pewter seed beads glued in the centers to give more texture.
Then I have glued them on so they are the same on both sides, and I have added some chain on through the eyelets.

My finished sleigh, I'm usually a traditional person for Christmas but went slightly out of my Christmas box and love the results.
Next on the hop is Beth with her Sleigh, make sure you check out the other design team members with their start of Christmas inspiration, I'm sure there will be something to inspire you to make your own.

hello and welcome back, sorry i missed last week, just had a few things on and it completely slipped my mind, well as you can see i survived the second week of the school holidays, Lamb and Sheep are doing really well and they "baa" out at me every time i walk past hoping i have bottle of milk hiding in my pocket, Lamb will be going to pets day in a few weeks so now i have to teach her to walk on a lead (yeah me).
In a couple of weeks I will be going up to Tauranga for a couple of days, Hubby will be doing fire brigade stuff and i will have some free time, since i have never being there i have no idea what i will do, so if there is anything you think is a must see or do please let me know.

Hello and welcome to another week, well spring is here, we have wild wind and on saturday we had lovely hail then in town today it was lovely and hot then we had to come home to the rain and wind :(
we have two new additions to the house hold, Sheep and Lamb, hopefully i will get some photos of of these two. Baby lambs are sooo cute!
Any way this week Jo from Imagine If sent us some beautiful chipboard frames, I had so much trouble choosing what ones i wanted to play with first, but something about the large rectangle frame spoke manly so i've used it in my layout of Little Man. i have also used some of Imagine If's chipboard cogs and flourish, i have kept my embellishments simple on this layout letting my back ground stand out more.

hello and welcome back for another blog hop, This week Jo set a 'nature' theme and for some reason it threw me, I really couldn't think of something 'Nature' so i sat down and played in my journal thinking of trees and taking my kids bush walking, and this is what i came out with, I'm really liking the fog/mist look of my background. So i cut pictures of my three children doing something in 'nature' Two of them were bush walking and the other is climbing a tree, the photos are mixed aged a couple of them quite old but since its a journal page anything goes.

The blog hop starts at Imagine If and the next stop along the way is Brenda at Thyme 2 craft          Hope you have enjoyed this weeks inspiration from the design team.

Jo's challenge!

Hello, and welcome to another blog hop for Imagine if, Jo sent us some squares/frames and said make something with these, I believe they are the left overs from something else! so when i saw them i so wanted to try my hand at a Jacobs ladder album, and i'm really happy with how it turned out, my ribbon could of been a little tighter but it works and that is all that matters so here are some pic's of my album and if you pop over to my facebook page there is a small video showing that it works!

The photos are pretty bad with reflection but if you can see on the second page i have put one of Imagine If's chipboard monkey's with some glitter in between some acetate, This album is made for my son with photos of him and inspirational quotes from Imagine If . If you have been following the hop You have just come from Carols and the next stop along the way is Beths, and remember you can always start at the start and Imagine If, Hope you have enjoyed the hop with all the different things we have come up with.

Soap, Jersey and a cheeky little man

Hello, This week i have a few things i would like to show you, The first is a fun layout i did a few weeks ago of my Cheeky little man with a pup, and i have been busy doing all kinds of different things.

And here i finally finished knitting a hooded jersey for Little man who had to model it while riding his bike ( would not just stand for a photo) but he wears it everywhere and its simple design is great for school or farm.

and a few weeks ago i made some soap, it turned out great and we have all been using it, Even my mum has used hers and rang to say she loves it! i also got some beautiful bees wax and made some lotion bars, I love these for moisturizing because you just rub them on your skin but don't get lots of greasy lotion that takes 10 minutes to rub in.

I'm knitting an infinity scarf for my Little Miss at the moment and making more soap for Christmas, and i'm teaching myself how to crochet using you-tube and some books. I'm lucky to be super busy being crafty at the moment, and i hope you are having time for the things/people you love.

Hello, What a week i've had, My lovely pet cow Gee finally calved last week but that night we had a storm and she got very cold but she is a wonderful mum and looked after her baby very well and now both are doing really well, i have left the calf on her and i bring her in every morning for milking, so now we are drinking lovely milk and have fresh cream for pudding! My little man has had ear infection so that has been rough on him, but next week looks good with everything back to normal.

Mini House Album

Hello and welcome back, this week we are not doing a hop but do make sure you pop along and have a look at everyone's blogs and share the love by leaving lovely comments, We all appreciate the lovely comments they make our day when you have enjoyed our crafts.
So this week I have done the chipboard house album from Imagine If, It is alot of fun to do and the possibilities are endless, I have made mine as a gift for someone who has just brought a new house, on my front cover i have a little pocket and made a key ring with a shrink plastic house sitting inside.

You can see through the windows and door windows so i have put matting behind them for photos.
On the next page i have put some cards for change of address in the little pocket.
I have left lots of matting for photo,s and put more pockets for things you want to keep, I thought of putting a photo from the paper of the listing and maybe the real estate agent's card in there.

I have embellished the whole album with flowers and post stamps, the papers i have used were G45's Botanical Tea Collection which are super beautiful, i used my Zutter binder to put it together and was really happy how it turned out.
