Oh so different!

Hello, Today for Imagine If's bog hop I've done something a little different, I got my sewing machine out!!!! I don't sew a lot, but do enjoy it when I do, and Jo from Imagine If sent me some beautiful Christmas Felt. Since the build up to Christmas is hard on little people I thought I would make Little Man something he can play with and count down the sleeps to the exciting day!
I love the magic of felt and how it sticks together, so the trees, presents and Ginger bread man are all sewn on, and using the amazing felt baubles, stars and candy canes he can decorate his Christmas tree every day!

The above photo is my wall hanging without the decorations, and then you can see what it looks like all decorated up!

This is a photo of Jo's kit for the Gingerbread man and candy cane, you just glue the felt together and you have the cutest tree decorations ever. the kids would love making these, maybe use a little glitter glue on the outside, and you have a cool present for granddad!

The Hop starts at Imagine If, but if you have been following along you have just come from Beth's and next on the hop is Lilian. Hope you have enjoyed this weeks inspiration from the Design team.

Christmas Trees!

Hi, on today's blog hop for Imagine If,  Beth, Lilian and I have done Christmas trees and the rest of the lovely design team have done Christmas tags. we start the hop at Imagine If and after me is Beth with her lovely tree.
The first thing I did to make my tree was put random pieces of Imagine If chipboard all over, I have use some Christmas chipboard and some non Christmas chipboard, then I have painted it all black, once dry I painted ferro old gold paint over it, (this paint has awesome texture in it).I also used some to stencil some extra texture on in random place's, then when that was dry i painted watered black paint over it again, and before that could dry i wiped most of it off, then over the raised bits I used some Blue Viva ink gold, and a bit of green.

Here is a close up showing the texture.

So remember the hop starts at Imagine If,  and after me is Beth with her Christmas tree, have fun hopping along and enjoying all the lovely creativity from the Design team,

Christmas cards

Hello and welcome to another blog hop for Imagine If.... Today Beth, Lilian and I are doing Christmas cards while everyone else get's to show off their beautiful Christmas sleighs. If you want to start the hop at the start pop over to Imagine If and follow from there, or if you are already following you have just come from Beth's and the next stop is Lilian.
So for my card's I wanted a vintage feel but still wanted them flat so I could post them, so I have used lots of beautiful Imagine If chipboard but have not lifted it to much.
On my first card I have used chipboard candles that I have painted white with a little shading, and chipboard holly leaves painted green, my berries are felt circles sprayed with Dylusions Postbox red and my circles of light I have used my Imagine If circle stencil and using gesso painted a different circle size where my candle wick would sit, then using my gelato's I have coloured.

For my second card I have used an embossing folder down one side just to add texture, sprayed my Reindeer a dark copper colour and painted another candle, then put it all together with some of the beautiful Poinsettia's available from Imagine If.

And my third card i have painted up some of the fun Christmas chipboard available and made my scene. I love the elf looking stocking's, they are so fun!

I hope you have enjoyed the hop today and have found some inspiration along the way, Please leave a comment we love hearing from you.

Christmas Sleigh

Hello and welcome to another Hop for Imagine If, today Beth, Lilian and I have Christmas sleigh's and they are awesome, and the other design team members have done Christmas layouts. I really love making something for Christmas every year, and these are so cute to make for a coffee table center piece or a gift, Today I have remembered to take photos of my making process. so sit back and enjoy.
First thing I did was cover all of the sleigh pieces in white gesso, and using Imagine If's  Rain go away stencil i put lighting down the sides and use some of the rain for lovely texture stripes.
Then i have used Dylusions, Cherry pie for my base coat of red but i wanted it a bit darker so then i have randomly sprayed  Lindy's Jolly Roger Red and Incandescent copper.

I have used a little acrylic paint on my lighting and rain stripes and put some eyelets on the front.
Then I have covered my chipboard pieces in either black or white gesso and all metal in clear gesso.
I have used a mixture of colours in spraying to give an aged look.
My wings I have embossed in Utees and the snow flakes I have used a glitter embossing powder, the bottle caps have pewter seed beads glued in the centers to give more texture.
Then I have glued them on so they are the same on both sides, and I have added some chain on through the eyelets.

My finished sleigh, I'm usually a traditional person for Christmas but went slightly out of my Christmas box and love the results.
Next on the hop is Beth with her Sleigh, make sure you check out the other design team members with their start of Christmas inspiration, I'm sure there will be something to inspire you to make your own.
